I don't want to use bleach or anything but is there an effective way, that you have personally done to lighten your skin color? I don't want any comments like "embrace your skin color" blahahahblahablaha, obviously I wasn't born with such a tan color I want to retain my natural skin color! Are there any lotions or soaps.. I know of black licorice and papaya kojic soap..

Use sunscreen all the time, whenever you go outside. There are creams called "Fair & Lovely" which can be purchased and they apparently contain no bleach, just vitamins and other things which are good for your skin. I use it and it works wonders. It makes your skin glow (not in a whitish way lol, in a healthy looking skin way). But i think they're only available at Indian stores. Try your local department store for a similar product. =)
